Learn
A free course, with no account and no login. Five levels of nine short lessons and a review — a few minutes each, and you can read a real sentence after the first one.
Each lesson gives you a handful of new words, sometimes sends you off to read one page of grammar, and then hands you a small deck of flashcards. You say the answer out loud, turn the card over, and mark yourself. Nothing is locked: start anywhere, and come back to any lesson as often as you like.

Mochi imports the Markdown file; ask for
=== between cards and --- between sides.
Anki imports the tab-separated one. Each
card is one word or sentence, so pick a two-sided template — Anki's Basic
(and reversed card) — to drill both directions, the way the lessons here
do.
